The next PWA Black Label show- titled Prize Bulls On Parade– is set to be another in a growing series of highly acclaimed shows on FITE TV. Pro Wrestling Australia exploded onto the platform in early February, beginning with Back In Black Label at the Factory Theatre in Marrickville, Sydney. On June 13, PWA returns to the Factory Theatre, and the buzz is rapidly building with the announcement of two mouth-watering matches.
First, we have the man the show is named after- The Prize Bull, Sam Osborne. Osborne earned a championship opportunity by virtue of winning the Rumble at PWA It Started Out With A Kiss, dumping out a dueling Matty Wahlberg and Mick Moretti to out-last the 30 person field. Osborne has been virtually unstoppable since aligning with Don Marnell last year, and he has chosen his champion to challenge. At Prize Bulls On Parade, it will be Sam Osborne vs. Jessica Troy for the PWWA Championship.
Jessica Troy has been one of the brightest shining stars in PWA over the past couple of years. Capturing the PWWA Championship from Shazza McKenzie at All Eyez On Troy, the Arm Collector has run through the best PWA has to offer. In fact, she has been so dominant that she changed the PWWA Championship from a women’s championship to an intergender title, beating everyone from Mat Diamond to Steph De Lander. Troy has arguably made the PWWA Championship the top prize in PWA, and Osborne is looking to take that prestige for himself. However, recent losses to Troy’s Fujiwara armbar in tag action could indicate that the champ has the Prize Bull’s number.
But that’s not all. PWA have announced today a gargantuan addition to the line-up. New Tag Team Champions Aussie Open (“Aussie Arrow” Kyle Fletcher & “Dunkzilla” Mark Davis) have taken the company by storm since debuting as a duo at Back In Black Label. At the last Black Label show- Aussie Open vs. Velocities– Fletcher & Davis captured the gold in an absolutely classic bout with London & De Silva. As any long-time wrestling fan knows, becoming champion just puts a target on your back, and the next challengers might just fire the sniper.
At Prize Bulls On Parade, the Sniper Of The Skies, Robbie Eagles looks to reprise his championship-winning tag team with Mat Diamond. It’s Lightspeed Express vs. Aussie Open. While the Velocities were tremendous champions and elite high-fliers, Eagles & Diamond were the OGs of the style. With near-countless accolades on the resume of Lightspeed Express, this is a certifiable dream match that is worth the price of admission alone- although the same could be said for Troy vs. Osborne!
