However today they not only added Australian wrestling deathmatch icon Maddog, but also announced details for their first show INCLUDING the first two matches you will see on the night.

So when’s the event?

16th of January 2021, at the Arrow on Swanston in Melbourne’s CBD. You can follow the event page on Facebook here. Tickets go on sale on Monday 7th December 2020 at 10am via Eventbrite.

Be advised to get tickets early! As this show will be following their COVIDSafe plan, there will be less tickets than usual. You’ve been warned!

So What Matches Will I See?

Deathmatch Downunder have announced one championship match, and one match which will be a first time ever here.

GWEEDO will defend his GUWA Championship on Jan 16th.

First up, the current GUWA Total Violence Championship Gweedo, will defend his title against Joel Bateman. Joel Bateman is eager to help build the reputation of deathmatch wrestling in Australia, and he can make a massive step forward in his mission by bringing the GUWA championship to Australia.

However it’s not going to be easy or particularly pleasant, as he will have to beat the experienced champion in a Cut Can Board & Gusset Plate Deathmatch.

Then, and in a big first time ever contest, Sydney’s own ‘Heartbreakcore’ Shazza Mckenzie will strap the boots on and go head to head against “Smash Mouth” Ritchie Taylor.

Taylor has been making a big name for himself for the last few years, breaking out in singles competition and probably had one of the biggest victories in his career when he defeated DCT in brutal hardcore streetfight in MCW. Now he has an opportunity to grow his legacy by taking on one of the top stars from New South Wales.
