Mayhem Pro, in association with the Relentless School of Pro Wrestling, have just completed filming shows and matches exclusively for their YouTube channel.
Tapings took place this past Sunday from a closed set, so we can expect to see the matches start to appear shortly afterwards. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions members of the public will not be allowed to attend future tapings at this time.
The shows, which were filmed in a ‘studio’ type environment, will initially feature top tier talent from the Victorian wrestling scene here in Australia, but show organizers also hope that future tapings will also supply a platform to give advanced students a place to start wrestling before going out into the wider scene.
In addition, due to the close relationship Mayhem Pro has with the Relentless School of Pro Wrestling, they also hope to give the students an opportunity to dip their toe into the backstage world and culture of the professional wrestling business. This will also give them a chance to experience the various facets of the day to day inner workings of a promotion.
When asked if they plan to release entire shows, Mayhem Pro said:
“We’re not going to upload it as a ‘show’. We really see an appeal in individual matches being put up online, so we’ll upload them as individual matches to our YouTube channel.
However the hope is that when the time is right, we will do full shows on Youtube AND break them down as individual match uploads. Not everyone wants to sit through a full 2 or 3 hour show, and it’s an approach that has worked really well for AEW’s Dark brand.
This is the first of what will hopefully be many Mayhem Pro online tapings. We’re planning on having some real blockbuster matchups in a closed set environment, allowing the superstars of Mayhem Pro to test themselves, prove themselves and showcase themselves online.”
