On the ‘On The Turnbuckle’ podcast, Steph De Lander touched on a number of subjects, such as her close friendship with Indi Hartwell, the challenges of wrestling a “big girl” style, and what it was like to become the first ever MCW Women’s Champion.
In the interview she also revealed what was the biggest match of her career. Her answer? A steel cage match vs Jessica Troy for Pro Wrestling Australia (PWA).
“Yeah… so I’ve never had a cage match before. I was speaking to someone the other day and they said that probably less than 5% of wrestlers will ever get to have a cage match, and that kind of put it into perspective for me on how big of an opportunity that we’ve been given.
There are so many wrestlers who would of loved to of been given this type of match so being able to have this cage match main eventing at Maxx Watts for PWA is kind of a dream come true.
And I feel like I’ve had a few matches where I’m like “THIS is the biggest match of my career”… but THIS is the biggest match of my career. And I’m like “oh boy”, this match is like so far the biggest of my career.”
Steph Delander is currently taking some time out during the pandemic, but you can be sure she’ll be back destroying the women of Australian wrestling in 2021 and beyond.
