PWA (Pro Wrestling Australia) is looking to continue their mometum from the excellent and well-received Back In Black Label show, by adding some blockbuster matches to their next major offering on FITE. This past week has seen Sydney’s finest promotion up the ante with two significant bouts for PWA It Started Out With A Kiss, live at the Factory Theatre on March 12.
As if the gargantuan clash for the PWA Heavyweight Championship between champ Caveman Ugg and challenger Ricky South wasn’t enough, we also have a 30 Man Rumble Match added to the card. The last time PWA held a Rumble was at Break Their Backs & Make Them Rumble in August 2019, and it was won by Jack J. Bonza. This granted Bonza a title shot against Ugg, and although he came up short, it was one of the hardest hitting matches in PWA history.
The other major addition to the card comes courtesy of open borders. Buoyed by Don Marnell and the MMA, Sam Osborne welcomes “Punch-Drunk” AJ Istria back to PWA. Istria has previously made notable PWA appearances in the 2018 Colosseum tournament, and the aformentioned Rumble match in 2019. Istria is known for his work in South Australia, having won the Wrestle Rampage National Championship and had a series of highly-regarded matches against Jonah Rock (now NXT’s Bronson Reed). The inclusion of inter-state talent in addition to PWA’s already stellar roster of NSW talent shows that PWA are committed to making It Started Out With A Kiss a major event, both for the promotion themselves and Aussie wrestling as a whole.
